Day 1 Arrive at Urumqi
Arrive at Urumqi and start your Silk Road tour, check in at the hotel in Urumqi and free time.

Day 2 Urumqi – Turpan (186KM, about 2.5 hours.) – Urumqi

Traveling through Asia’s largest wind power plant – Dabancheng Wind Power Station and China`s Dead Sea – Salt Lake in Xinjiang, you will arrive at the fire land – Turpan. First visit an ancient ethnic style Uighur village and then continue your trip to Jiaohe Ruins – the ruins still stand tall after enduring blazing sun and pouring rain for over 2,300 years. Your next stop is Karez Well, which is a unique underground water system invented and built by ancient farmers from the various ethnic minorities of Turpan. Then you will see another wonder in Xinjiang – the Flaming Mountain, where the climate is harsh and the temperature is extremely hot in the summer, the hottest spot in China with frequent temperature reaching over 50 °C (122 °F) or higher. After that you will enter the ten-kilometer-long and half-a-kilometer wide Grape Valley to see various types grapes you have never seen before You will also visit local family and enjoy folk dance. Drive back to Urumqi.

Day 3 Urumqi – Tianshan Heavenly Lake (120KM, about 1.5 hours.) – Liuyuan (by train approximately 9 hours)

After breakfast, drive to Tianshan Heavenly Lake, This peaceful, calm and beautiful lake is about 1,980 meters above sea-level -nestled in the quiet enclave of the Tianshan Mountains. For the spiritually enlightened travellers, they could even feel the quiet air of tranquility and peace over the whole lake. In the afternoon enjoy your time in Xinjiang International Grand Bazaar, which is the world ‘s largest Bazaar, combining Islamic culture, architecture, ethnic commerce, tourism and entertainment. Take evening train to Dunhuang with soft sleepers.

Day 4 Liuyuan – Dunhuang (130KM, about 2 hours.)
Pick you up from railway station and drive to Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes, the construction began in the year 366 AD, the site is made up of hundreds of man-made caves and combining architecture, sculpture and murals. Continue your tour with the desert wonders of the Echoing-Sand Dune and Crescent Lake, which has existed for at least two thousand years alongside Echoing-Sand Dune. Check in at the hotel in Dunhuang.

Day 5 Depart from Dunhuang
