Traditional Chinese medicine

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is an ancient China practice. Though the first recorded history of TCM dates back over 2000 years, it is believed that the origin of TCM goes back more than 5000 years.

As a comprehensive health system, it has a range of applications from preventive health care and maintenance to diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic disorders.

TCM believes that the human body is a microcosm of the Universe interconnected with nature and subject to its forces. TCM practitioners believe that everything is interconnected in human body. The mind and body are not viewed separately but as part of a complete energetic system. Health and disease relates to the balance of this system.

In comparison with Western medicine, the Chinese method takes a far different approach. Traditional Chinese medicine includes various forms of herbal medicine, acupuncture, massage, exercise, and dietary therapy.

Today Traditional Chinese Medicine is still used by millions of people all over the world — even after the development of modern scientific medicine.
