The Shaanxi Provincial History Museum, is located one kilometers northwest of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. It is a magnificent architectural complex in the Tang Dynasty style.

It covers an area of 70,000 square meters, with the construction area of 5,000 square meters. It collects the highlights of the Shaanxi culture and shows a development of the Chinese civilization.

In the museum, the exhibition of Shaanxi’s history is the main content, which is composed of seven sections and emphasize on the high prosperity of Zhou (2100BC-770BC), Qin (770BC-206BC) , Han (202BC-220AD), and Tang dynasties (618-907). Shaanxi took a long history as the country’ political, economic and cultural center, so tourist can see the history of ancient China through visiting the museum.

The museum owns 18 invaluable national treasures including bronze wares, gold and silver wares, jade, chinaware, mural paintings and pottery figurine.

Daily available between  Tuesday-Sunday: 09:00 to 17:30 (Nov.15 to Mar.15); 08:30 to 18:00 (Mar.16 to Nov.14); Closed on Mondays

Ticket Price (in RMB): The museum issues 4,000 free ticket a day. (2,500 tickets before 14:00 and 1500 tickets in the afternoon). An individual tourist can get only one ticket for himself / herself at the ticket office by the valid certification.
