Mount Emei (or Emei Shan) is located in southwest of central China’s Sichuan Province. It is known as one of the Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains of China. Mount Emei was listed in the UNESCO World Heritage in 1996.

Emei Shan means “delicate eyebrow mountain” in Chinese, its landscape features many Buddhist temples, natural wonders and fantastic scenery.

Mount Emei is 3,099m above the sea level. There are over 30 Buddhist temples on the mountain. Four well-known scenery on Mount Emei are: Baoguo Temple , Wannian Temple, Qingyin Pavilion and Golden Summit. Furthermore, there are another four spectacles on Golden Summit : cloud sea, sunrise and sunset, Buddha rays and saint lamps. Other interesting attraction is the hundreds of monkeys that will beg for food and handouts.

The best time to travel to Mount Emei is between May and October. During this time, the area is at its most green and tourists can enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery.
