Dazu Rock Carvings (大足石刻 UNESCO) is located in Dazu County, about 120km from Chongqing city. The carving work began from 650 A.D of the Tang Dynasty (618-907 A.D) to Qing Dynasty (1644-1911 A.D). There are 75 spots of carvings in Dazu County. Usually travelers visit the highlights – the North Hill (Beishan) and Baoding Hill (Baodingshan) carvings. Our private tour will pick you up from Chongqing, visit Dazu Rock Carvings and back to the city.

Dazu Stone Carvings
Pick you up from hotel in Chongqing at 8:30am, your private car and driver will take you directly to Dazu Carvings, it is a 2 hours ride from Chongqing to Dazu.
You will have full day to explore the Dazu grottoes. First visit Beishan Grottoes (北山石刻), which is well-known for large collection of various Buddha of Compassion.
Have your lunch in a local Chinese restaurant. Then head to the Baoding Hill to visit Baoding Grottoes (宝顶山石刻), you will see spectacular 10, 000 giant figures which stretches about 500 meters.
After the tour drive back to Chongqing and drop off at your hotel.

- Dazu Rock Carvings is composed of the rock carvings in Beishan, Baodingshan, Nanshan, Shimenshan as well as Shizhuanshan. Unlike those tours which only take you to only one of five mountains of Dazu, this package will take you to visit two most important sites – the Beishan Grottoes and Baoding Grottoes.

I will be visiting Chongquing approx 21 -23 Mar 2018. I will be at the Marriott hotel
I am now in Hefei, Anuie.
I want to book a 1 day trip to study the Rock carvings at Dazu.
I need an good English speaking guide with the best ancient / historical knowledge of this time period.
I need to depart early morning to attend the location (0600), and stay more time on site.
I would like to see the following:
Baodingshan Rock Carvings, Beishan Rock Carvings, Nanshan Rock Carvings, Shizhuanshan Rock Carvings and Shimenshan Rock Carvings.
But I would be open to suggestion of “other” or “special” choices to complete my study.
I may need to schedule future research projects including many people. It would be in your interest to find me the best guide possible.

Hi Van, It is impossible to cover all sites you listed in one day. The Shimenshan Rock Carvings is closed and not open to public. The road to Shizhuanshan Rock Carvings is not good. Adivse to visit the Baodingshan Rock Carvings, Beishan Rock Carvings, Nanshan Rock Carvings. Our trip consultant already sent you quote in details. thanks
