Lhasa to Nepal overland route is a world famous classic tourist itinerary attracting countless tourists to go through the road from Lhasa to Kathmandu each year. Starting from Lhasa, you will travel to beautiful Yamdruktso Lake, one of the three holy lakes in Tibet, the Karuola Glaciers lying on the roadside, the Pelkor Chode Monastery with several sects of Tibetan Buddhism in one place, the famed Tashilhunpo known as the Panchen Lama’s seat, the Sakya Monastery reputed as the “Second Dunhuang” for its magic murals. And we will drive 100km south of Friendship Highway to visit Everest Base Camp and the world’s highest monastery, 5,000 meters Rongbuk Monastery.

Day 01 Lhasa Arrival
Arrival at Lhasa airport and you will be transferred to hotel. Remainder of the day is at leisure to adjust the high altitude.

Day 02 Lhasa B.L
Today you will first visit Jokhang Temple, the ultimate pilgrimage destination for Tibetan Pilgrims. Then walk around the Barkhor Bazaar, which are filled with pilgrims with spinning prayer wheels, monks buying this and that, women getting a mud-hair styling, and yak butter saleswomen. Then continue your trip to Norbulingka, Summer Palace of Dalai Lama. Have lunch at a local restaurant.
    
Day 03  Lhasa  B.L.D
In the morning, you will visit the most holy monastery in Tibet – Potala Palace, which is regarded as the iconic symbol of Tibet, and has long been enmeshed in the collective dreams of many travelers to this mystical region. After lunch at local restaurant, you will visit Sera Monastery, Sera means wild rose in the Tibetan language. The monastery is dedicated to the Gelugpa or Yellow Hat Sect, a branch of Tibetan Buddhism, founded by Tsong Khapa. Enjoy Tibetan style dinner in the evening.

Day 04 Lhasa –Mindrolling-Tsedang B.L.D (220 km, estimate 6 hrs drive)
Drive to Tsedang. On the way visit Mindrolling Monastery,which is the largest and most important Nyingmapa monastery in this area. And then visit a local Tibetan family. Check into hotel upon arrival and dinner at hotel
 
Day 05 Tsedang  B.L.D
Morning drive to visit Samye Monastery (100 km, estimate 3 hrs drive), It is notable as the site of the “Great Debate” (792-794) between the Indian Mahayanists and Chinese Chán (Zen) Buddhists. After lunch, visit to Yambulhakhang Palace, the first palace of Tibet and Tradruk Temple.

Day 06 Tsedang-Yamdruktso-Gyantse B.L.D  (330 km, estimate 9 hrs drive + visit)
Drive to Gyantse. On the way visit Yamdruktso Lake, It is over 72 km long. The lake is surrounded by many snow-capped mountains and is fed by numerous small streams. And then pass by Karola Pass. Check into hotel in Gyantse upon arrival and dinner at hotel.

Day 07 Gyantse-Shalu-Shigatse B.L.D (110 km, estimate 2.5 hrs drive)
Visit Palkhor Chode Monastery where several sects of Tibetan Buddhism can be found in one place. After lunch, drive to Shigatse. On the way visit Shalu Monastery. It is famous for its sandalwood slips carved with Buddhist scripture and a jar used to hold sacred water, in which, it is said, the water does not decrease or deteriorate. Late afternoon explore the local market. Check into hotel in Shigatse upon arrival and dinner at hotel.

Day 08 Shigatse-Sakya-Tingri  B.L.D (310 km, estimate 8 hrs drive + visit)
Visit Tashilhunpo Monastery in the morning,It is the seat of the Panchen Lama since the Fourth Panchen Lama took charge in the monastery. After lunch, drive to Tingri, and visit Sakya Monastery en route. Check into hotel in Tingri upon arrival and dinner at hotel

Day 09 Tingri-Everest Base Camp-Zhangmu B.L.D (470 km, estimate 9 hrs drive)
Early morning drive to Everest Base Camp and visit surroundings. Hike up to the top of the photo point to take pictures of the splendid- Mt. Everest. Continue drive to Zhangmu, Check into Hotel in Zhangmu and dinner at hotel.

Day 10 Zhangmu-Kathmandu B
After breakfast, transfer to Friendship Bridge and pass through China Customs to Nepal. End of Tibet trip.
