• The Temple of Heaven (Chinese name: 天坛) is situated in the southeastern part of Beijing, about 6 km away from the city center.
  •  Built in 1420 A.D, The Temple of Heaven is China’s largest existing complex of ancient sacrificial buildings, nearly four times the size of the Forbidden City.
  • The main buildings inside from north to south are the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, the Imperial Vault of Heaven and the Circular Mound Altar.
  • It opens from 6:00 to 22:00 (The three main buildings open at 08:00)
  • The entrance ticket is RMB30 Nov.1-Mar.31 (next year) and RMB35 Apr.1-Oct.31
  • You may visit the Temple of Heaven in the early morning, will find people practice all kinds of Kung Fu and Taichi and some other interesting activities.
  •  An easy tour will take about 2-3 hours. You can walk in from the East Gate and walk out from the South Gate.
  • Take the subway line 5, get off at Tiantan Dongmen Station from Exit A and turn right, you’ll find the East Gate of the Park.
  •  Other places to visit around the Temple of Heaven include Tianqiao Theater and Pearl Market.
  •  You may also take a bus tour to visit the Temple of Heaven, the price is USD38 only combined with Forbidden City and Summer Palace.
